On Azrael Block, guitarist Greg Rapaport takes a darker path than his previous CD "Wyrd" by exploring even more convoluted themes and the joining of uncommon musical ideas. By using and abusing the elements of fusion, prog/metal and funk, Rapaport conjures up sounds that aren't anywhere near the beaten path. His second true effort is consistent in methodology, style and approach, consequently staying true to Rapaport's twisted musical vision. Musical ingredients include odd time signatures, heavy riffing, jazzy interludes, interesting percussion instruments, wacky soloing, multiple changes, deep and horrifying grooves - and a sprinkling of some dark humor. Instrumental Guitar (Electric (Heavy)/Progressive/Fusion), total running time, 75:17 - Greg Rapaport @ iTunes!
