Be Thou My Vision is the third in a series of solo instrumental guitar releases by San Diego area fingerstylist Jim Earp. Following on the heels of his nationally acclaimed and award-winning "Rosewood" and "Smiles To Go" CDs, this new project ventures away from original compositions such as featured in those releases, and instead embraces original arrangements of classic hymns. Included in the compilation is a cover of John Fahey's fingerstyle standard "In Christ There Is No East Or West," as well as a cover of Brook's Williams' arrangment of "Joyful, Joyful" from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
