New classical guitarist Gilda Taffet's CD, Downtown Diary, features fresh music for classical guitar - both solo and with flute, or vibraphone - with contemporary classical, new age and jazz influences. Gilda performs as a soloist, and with such diverse Northern Californian groups as the Avalon Swing Revue, the Stockton Symphony, Sacramento Ballet and Opera orchestras, the B Street Theater and Slavic music group Dai Go Zivo. The four-part "Downtown Diary" (tracks 2-5 on the CD) was featured in the Spring 2000 American Composers Forum Salon Series in San Francisco and with the Chamber Music Society in Sacramento in April, 2000.
