Born and raised in Haiti, guitarist Robert Magic began playing the guitar at the age of seven, and by fifteen, was nominated as the best guitar player in the nation. He came to the United States in 1986 and was taught jazz by guitarists Michael Howell and Lawrence Lucie. Magic also soaked up the music of Joe Pass, Kenny Burrell and George Benson, spending hours duplicating their genius. On Guitar Caress, Magic brings to your ears a blend incorporating some Haitian styles such as Rara and compas. You'll hear beat, harmony and melody - three important elements in making good music. Magic adds, "I thank the Lord for the gift of music, and I also thank you for buying my album." Instrumental Guitar (Acoustic/World), total running time, 42:34
