Hard Rock

Joe Pinnavaia, the guitarist behind Test Tube Rhino, always had an interest in the guitar as far back as he could remember, but it was not until the age of 13 that Joe started formal lessons focusing on what would be the basis for technique as well as broadening his musical vocabulary. He studied with guitarist Tony Scozzaro, and started his formal studies at Villa Maria College playing with various musicians from the Buffalo community. In 2004, Joe started his own solo project known as Test Tube Rhino, which is his outlet for the experimental and selfish side of his playing. This outlet allows Joe to experiment with songwriting, textures, improvisation and just plain going off! With the release of his first solo effort, InVitro, Joe hopes to take the listener on a journey with soundscapes that evoke an emotion that creates a personal relationship between the listener and the artist. InVitro features rock guitar instrumentals designed to showcase both fierceness ans sweetness, allowing for plenty of solo space, multi-layered esoterica, melodic richness, over-the-top shred, liquid legato lines and torrid tapping.

BONUS CD: "Emerging Artists - Into Existence" is a compilation of talented artists across different genres that span the globe. Featuring artists from the States, Greece, UK and Taiwan. The listener is taken on a journey starting with Test Tube Rhino's "Ascension in the Desert" with Middle Eastern/Techno influences, Josiah Botts' progressive drumming featured on "Zen Chaos", James Logalbo's 7 String Shredfest "The Calling", Martin Olander's rockin' track "Just Go", John Kakalas' "Mindshift" which features guest performances from Johnathan Vipond and Anton Lycklama-Nijeholt. The CD is rounded out by performances from Donna Stewart, Panos Kolias and Tina Jui-Ting Wu. This CD is FREE with the purchase of InVitro. Instrumental Guitar (Electric (Heavy)/Hard Rock), total running time, 38:05 - Test Tube Rhino @ iTunes!
