Breakdown of Guitar Nine Instrumentals
As the number of recordings appearing on the Guitar Nine Records site increases monthly, many fans of instrumental guitar music have asked us to further describe the various kinds of guitar music available for purchase. It's true that you may be into just shred or just acoustic or just neo-classical, so rather than have you wade though dozens of CDs, we've put together some stylistic recommendations, loosely based on the majority of music found on each CD. Keep in mind that many of the guitarists are quite diverse, and they like to mix in a few non-typical songs (or even the occasional vocal number) for the sake of variety.
This is a good time to point out that a large percentage of the guitarists and bands selling their music on this site are independent musicians who have retained total creative control over their recordings. While this is rare enough in the music business, it's rarer still to maintain the quality and the magic of original music while dealing with the pressures of self-financing, production, packaging, publicity, running a record label and so forth. All these artists have come through with flying colors and their recordings are a testament to that fact. Give them your support and don't feel shy about contacting any of them to let them know how much you like their music.
