Tankred is the new solo album from Brazilian guitarist Rainer Tankred Pappon, recorded in 2004 and featuring the drumming of Humberto Zigler in a power trio format. The style is an instrumental fusion of Zappa-influenced rock music with American R&B. Pappon has been heavily influenced by the great '70s acts such as Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Egberto Gismonti, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Hermeto Pascoal, Focus, Yes, Gong and Jeff Beck. He is one of the founders of the Central Scrutinizer Band (Zappa Cover), which it had the recognition and approval of Frank himself in 1991. Tankred, which also features Pappon on bass, combines an improvisational mentality with the spirit of independent comositional and technical freedom. Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Rock), total running time, 43:55
