With this follow-up to the highly acclaimed debut "Highway 90", Shane Theriot has raised the bar of modern funk/rock guitar. Packed with melodic but ripping solos and simply killer guitar tones, Theriot goes right for the throat on The Grease Factor, hitting heavier than on his first release, but with one foot still firmly planted in his native Louisiana soil. The CD features (in additional to the jaw-dropping axe work) amazing performances by some of the funkiest drummers on the planet including Jeff Sipe (Jazz Is Dead, ARU), John Vidacovich (Astral project, John Scofield) and Russell Batiste (The Meters), great bass by Adam Nitti (Dave Weckl), Victor Wooten and Tony Hall (Emmylou Harris, Jewel, Dave Matthews) and Kirk Joseph (Dirty Dozen Brass Band). Other musicians include Jeff Coffin on sax (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones) and Steve Conn on accordion (Sonny Landreth, solo artist). Theriot has total command of his instrument, and literally breathes fire into each track with funky wah-wah licks and rhythms, blistering overdriven runs and quick-picked, ultra-clean lines. Don't miss this one.. Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Fusion), total running time, 51:26 - Shane Theriot @ iTunes!
