Guitarist Michael Fath starts the millennium with a trio record (Andy Hamburger pounds the skins, while Chris Neubauser provides deep bass) entitled Yesterday's Child. The CD is a fusion tour-de-force as Fath mixes, melds, chops, slices and dices musical styles from song to song with comfortable ease. The guitarmanship is stellar, with tracks such as "Faith", "Heads I Groove, Tails You Move" (dedicated to Jeff Beck), "Class Reunion", and "As Summer Fades" featuring incredibly fluid solos, immaculate, improvised melodic lines and Fath's own, world renowned guitar techniques, done up in a fusion/rock/jazz blend (with the overdrive kicked up a notch at key moments). For a completely different feel, try "Cosmic Cowboy" (dedicated to Danny Gatton), a country guitar and banjitar showcase tune perfect for any high energy hoedown or supercharged hayride.
