Norway progressive metal band Ark's self titled debut album was released in Asia in September 1999 and in Europe during January, 2000. Featuring the incendiary axe work of Tore Ostby (Conception, DC Cooper) along with drummer John Macaluso (Yngwie Malmsteen, TNT) and vocalist Jorn Lande (Uli Jon Roth, The Snakes), the album finds the band creating powerful progressive music written in total artistic freedomb eyond boundaries of style - complex and intense but infused with memorable melodies. In their native land, Norway's Scream magazine wrote, "The Coverdale/Lynnot-sounding voice of Lande injects some influences from the '70s into the music, while the playing of Ostby, and the quite technical drumming of Mr. Macaluso makes it progressive. This combination is very hard to beat. There are a lot of strong songs here, especially "Burning Down", "Where The Winds Blow" and "Singers At The Worlds Dawn". "
