Wearing A Groove is the title of the mighty impressive CD by Ben Trexel, an instrumental guitarist whose songs range from to searing blues to heavy/hard rock and industrial. His debut album is a mature and powerful musical statement, featuring Montrose/Page-style hard rock rave-ups such as "In Dust Real", "Gameday" and "Sidewinder" alongside some Page-y acoustic numbers such as "Soulstice". The result is some powerhouse tunage, and the listener is treated to some fiery soloing in addition to the solid performances given by drummers John Williams and Jesse Suttle. Wearing A Groove will please instrumental devotees who love guitar and love driving grooves -- the title sets you up, and doesn't disappoint.
