Wood And Steel

Deric Rush Band
Sold through Guitar Nine thru 2012

Wood And Steel is a blend of blues, rock, and funk representing the first solo release by Deric Rush . The motivation for the album was to showcase not only Deric's impressive acumen with the guitar but to display the wide-range of musical influences that have come together to create Deric's unique brand of music. Throughout the album, you will clearly hear the influence of Satriani, Vai, Hendrix, and Van Halen in the tonality and explosive notes he chooses. You will also immediately recognize Deric's appreciation for those who have preceded him, such as Jeff Beck, Miles Davis, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Roy Clark, each of whom paved the way for Deric to have the opportunity to bring his music to audiences everywhere. One of the overriding goals for Wood And Steel set by both Deric and producer, George Marakas, was to accurately preserve the energy and feel of DRB live while simultaneously using the studio as a medium unto itself. Keep in mind as you listen to Wood And Steel that this goal was achieved and you can be assured that the music on the album will come alive when the band performs it.
