The self-titled CD debut from California's Happy Tongue contains nine hard rock tunes primarily written by bassist/vocalist Steve Gorski and guitarist Gary Gault. The inspiration for the lyrics on the album come from Gorski's real life experiences and warped sense of humor. Interestingly, the length of the CD was intentionally kept to just under 40 minutes, as the band noticed that their favorite rock recordings averaged around 40 minutes in length. The power trio is rounded out by drummer Clark Hendrickson, who keeps the band anchored as Gault and Gorski let the music fly. Playing live in support of the CD, Happy Tongue has opened for Great White, Union, Love/Hate, Bang Tango and the Hollywood Outlaws.
