Joe Deninzon is an interplanetary violinist and composer with a new CD for 2002, entitled The Adventures Of Stratospheerius. The album is Joe's long-awaited follow-up to his debut, "Electric Blue". This time around, the group features Joe Deninzon on six-string electric violin and vocals, Scott Chasolen on Fender Rhodes and Moog, Grisha Alexiev on drums, Rufus Philpot on bass, DJ Big Wiz on turntables, and legendary guitarist Alex Skolnick (who has worked with Testament and Stu Hamm). They mix the avant garde jazz/rock sound of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, the pop sensibilities of the Dave Matthews Band, and Chili Peppers-style funk, to create a Stratospheeric musical experience. Five instrumentals grace the album, including "What's That Thang?", "Peppermint Patty", "Contusion", "Ants In The Pants" and "Chunga Changa". The Adventures Of Stratospheerius rolls elements of jazz, fusion, funk and progressive rock into a brand new style, and Deninzon's vocals on half the record make the work accessible to those scared off by the terms "jazz" and "fusion".
