Camino Latino

Liona Maria Boyd's attraction to Latin culture and her passion for the guitar should not surprise us. Her grandmother was born in Linares, Spain, and her father grew up in the city of Bilbao. As a teenager, Liona spent a year living in the artist colony of San Miguel de Allende, relishing the cultural vitality of Mexico. Her love for Latin music has ofter found expression on her recordings, but never more brilliantly so than on Camino Latino. This unique collaborative effort presents Liona with some of today's most outstanding guitarists, including Al DiMeola, Strunz and Farah, Steve Morse, Jesse Cook and others, as they pay tribute to her in a musical dialog rich with melodic invention and propulsive rhythm. Camino Latino treats us to an exciting blend of traditional and contemporary sounds labeled 'Nuevo Latino'.
