Madmen & Sinners is a special duo project, pairing fretless guitar wiz Tim Donahue with Dream Theater's vocalist James LaBrie - taking the music beyond Donahue's normal instrumental output. Strong choruses and hooks lead to memorable songs, even with the apocalyptical themes (essentially a cynical commentary about religion and modern society) running throughout. Overtones of Dream Theater blended with the buzzsaw distortion Donahue favors for this album give the music its own sonic stamp. Fans looking to hear Donahue in a brand new setting will enjoy the approach he has taken on Madmen & Sinners.
