Classical guitarist Susan McDonald's 2001 release, entitled Autumn Dances, features a number of solo pieces, as well as collaborations with artists such as guitarist John Pearce, harpsichordist Myron McDonald (Susan's father), mandolinist David Peters, fingerpicking champion guitarist Muriel Anderson, flutist Christina Jennings and oboist Alecia Lawyer. The material includes Russian, South American and Jewish pieces as well as some original music by Susan McDonald and John Pearce. As Pepe Romero described her playing, "She casts a spell over the audience," and the music on Autumn Dances certainly brings that feeling home to the CD listener.
