Joe Satriani
The Story
"Joe Satriani" is a 'rootsier' Satriani record, as most of the cuts are of the 'live-in-the-studio' variety, and demonstrate a blues sensibility. "Joe Satriani" features the production of veteran producer Glyn Johns (Rolling Sones) and contains excellent guitar work on cuts such as "Cool #9" and "Slow Down Blues". "If" has a grinding, catchy rhythm and "Home" has a nice, quiet soulful tone. "Killer Bee Bop," maybe the best track, almost sounds like it came from the "Extremist" sessions.
