Guitar style linked to players such as Eric Clapton.
The Fender Custom Shop worked with the team at Eddie's Guitars in St. Louis to have some extra unique Custom Shop 1963 Stratocasters built. Unlike most early '60s Fenders, these have Roasted Maple necks - foregoing the usual Rosewood fingerboards. Paired with the light weight Roasted Ash body, this '63 Strat is as lively and resonant as can be. Acoustically, it's loud, clear and articulate with outstanding sustain.
When you plug it in, you'll quickly start to realize the magic in the Handwound Eddie's Exclusive '63 Stratocaster Single Coil Pickups. These pickups are based on the Custom Shop Handwound Big Dipper John Mayer and Texas Special pickups - but tweaked to add a bit of funky, scooped-mids, and a bit throatier - though not overwound - bridge pickup. This results in an incredibly well balanced set up pickups that have a breath of their own, and a wide range of versatility.
